Advocate Teffo: Senzo Meyiwa Was Sacrificed

Advocate Teffo Unveils Shocking Allegations of Corruption and Senzo Meyiwa Murder Cover-Up in Explosive Podcast Interview...

In a recent highly anticipated interview on the "MacG" YouTube channel, Advocate Malesela Daniel Teffo, a former police officer turned lawyer, made a series of explosive allegations, painting a grim picture of deep-rooted corruption within South Africa's police and justice systems. Teffo, known for his involvement in the high-profile Senzo Meyiwa murder case, shared his side of the story, claiming he has faced severe persecution for uncovering the truth.

From Police Officer to Controversial Advocate

Advocate Teffo revealed his background as a police officer, having trained in 1995 at Peter Mokaba College and serving until his resignation in 2014. He claims to have been an exceptional marksman, ranking third in shooting during his training. He later pursued law while still a police officer, earning an LLB degree. His career as a union leader within the police force, representing members against leadership, often put him at odds with senior officials, which he believes led to his current struggles.

SAPS Accused of Drug Cartel Involvement

One of the most startling accusations made by Teffo is the involvement of high-ranking police officials in drug trafficking. He claimed that Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, the former provincial commissioner of Gauteng, is "the one supplying the drugs in Gauteng". Teffo asserted he has proof of these allegations, indicating that this is the root of the "enemity" between them.

He described a dramatic "war" between the Minister of Police and the National Commissioner of Police in 2019 over a cargo of drugs intercepted at Durban port from South America. According to Teffo, the Minister allegedly sent his people to hide the cargo illegally, leading the National Commissioner to retrieve it. This turf war over the illegal drugs ultimately resulted in the National Commissioner being fired, leaving the Minister in control.

Teffo elaborated that the corruption is "very deep" within the system, extending beyond drugs to include involvement in sex trafficking and prostitution, particularly in high-profile brothels in Sandton. He alleged that some high-profile police officers oversee these operations and receive "freebies" as payment.

Persecution and Threats on Teffo's Life

Advocate Teffo has faced immense personal and professional hardship. He was arrested on August 1, 2023, and spent 17 months in prison (9 months in Kgosi Mampuru and 8 months in Sun City), initially without being charged for 84 days. He stated the "initial intention of the people who sent me to jail" was for him to die there or go insane.

During his incarceration, Teffo revealed he was poisoned through "chicken lick" in December 2023, a slow poison that was diagnosed by a doctor in prison and resulted in his fingernails being affected. He attributes his survival to divine protection, stating that God "doesn't allow this whoever wanted to kill me was supposed to ask my God first".

He claims to have been offered R45 million to withdraw from the Senzo Meyiwa case by the acting head of the prison, an offer he refused. Teffo believes this offer indicates the high stakes of the case, suggesting that "serious people are going to go to jail" if the truth comes out.

Teffo explicitly named several individuals and groups as his "enemies" who orchestrated his persecution:

  • Lieutenant General Elias Mawela (former provincial commissioner of Gauteng).
  • Major General Collins Hlaulana (head of legal services in Gauteng SAPS).
  • Brigadier Dennis Bus, Colonel Sarita Smith, Brigadier Stalls, and Colonel Botha within SAPS.
  • Lieutenant General Brenda Man (provincial commissioner of Free State).
  • A "gang" of racist and corrupt individuals within the SAPS, NPA (National Prosecuting Authority), and the judiciary.
  • Politicians who allegedly made his life difficult in prison: Minister of Police Bheki Cele, Minister of Correctional Services and Justice Ronald Lamola, and EFF President Julius Malema. Teffo stated Malema publicly undermined his professional standing without ever speaking to him.

His family has also suffered, with his children being forced out of private school due to unpaid fees and his furniture being repossessed.

The Senzo Meyiwa Murder: A Shocking Account

Advocate Teffo's most detailed revelations centered on the Senzo Meyiwa murder case, from which he withdrew in July 2022 due to the treatment he received from the judge. He firmly stated that the five men currently accused of Meyiwa's murder are innocent and have strong alibis.

Teffo's investigation led him to a startling conclusion: Senzo Meyiwa was accidentally shot and killed by Kelly Khumalo. He provided a detailed account of the events of October 26, 2014, at Kelly Khumalo's former home:

  • Longwe Twala (son of music producer Chicco Twala), allegedly angry about his girlfriend Zandi Khumalo (Kelly's sister) having spent a week away with Senzo and a friend, arrived at Kelly's home.
  • Longwe, reportedly high on drugs and carrying his father's unlicensed .38 special revolver, intended to intimidate Senzo and his friend.
  • Inside the house, after a confrontation, Longwe allegedly fired a shot into the floor, and shrapnel hit Zandi Khumalo.
  • Senzo then wrestled the firearm from Longwe, overpowered him, and handed the gun to Kelly Khumalo.
  • As Kelly was playfully handing the firearm back to Senzo, the bullet accidentally discharged, hitting Senzo in the lung.
  • Teffo stated that Senzo likely died within "10 to 20 seconds" from the wound, despite being taken to the hospital an hour later.

He further claimed that the immediate calls after the shooting were made to Chicco Twala, who then called Dr. Ivan Ka. Chicco allegedly instructed Kelly to hide the firearm from local police officers. Subsequently, senior police officials, including General Phahlane and General Shadra, arrived at the scene to "secure the firearm," not to investigate, suggesting a cover-up.

Teffo revealed a shocking connection: the firearm that killed Senzo Meyiwa allegedly belongs to Advocate George Baloyi, the lead prosecutor in the Meyiwa case. Teffo claims that Baloyi's 10-year-old son, Sepo Baloyi, died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a .38 revolver in 2004, and this firearm was subsequently given to Chicco Twala for disposal. Teffo suggested that both Sepo and Senzo's deaths were "sacrificial".

Teffo also disclosed that a warrant of arrest for Kelly Khumalo for conspiracy to commit murder and murder was issued but was never executed. He believes this is because Baloyi does not want Kelly to testify and reveal the truth.

Unwavering Pursuit of Justice

Despite the immense personal cost, including the death of his brother while he was in jail, Teffo remains committed to exposing the truth. He believes his survival is a sign of divine purpose. He intends to be the "first complainant" at the newly appointed commission of inquiry into the Meyiwa case.

He asserts that the current trial is a "sham trial," designed to ensure the poor accused men are found guilty, and that the defense lawyers are being paid by Legal Aid South Africa to "run until this case is finalized" without recusing the judge. Teffo has written to the CEO of Legal Aid South Africa, demanding the termination of funding for these lawyers.

Advocate Teffo concluded by expressing his deep faith, stating that he is not strong himself but believes God is carrying him, and that he will "overcome no matter how difficult it is". A crowdfunding campaign, "Back a Buddy," has been set up to assist him financially.

Blunt Verdict: SA "Uninvestable" Under ANC Rule, Says Fierce Critic Rob Hersov

Rob Hersov, a respected entrepreneur and outspoken critic of the establishment, delivered a powerful and challenging speech at the recent investment conference, declaring that South Africa is "uninvestable under the ANC" . Hersov, known for his fierce criticism and advocacy for a better South Africa, stated that if people are still putting money into the country under the current leadership, they are "gambling with your family's future," not investing.
